Dancing Queen

Matt's 1st Father's Day

June 23rd - Matt's first father's day.

Matt had to work today (am shift) so he missed church but i made sure to pick up his present (our church is great about giving out gifts on mother/father day). He slept for a few hours in the ultimate leather recliner and then we woke him up for gifts and dinner out. Fran was visiting us and she got him the coolest "Transformers" card that talks. Also, little Nattie Buggins (as matt sometimes calls her) made her Daddy a footprint picture for his first father's day.

Sick Nat Nat

This month Natalie experienced her worst cold to date. It was so sad to see her in so much pain and to be running high fevers of up to 104 degrees (i think it might have been even higher). It broke our hearts and it stunk that there was nothing we could do except give her alittle pain relieve every couple of hours. Thankfully, the worst of it was Thursday - Monday so Matt and I were able to take turns staying home with her and not miss too much work. My mom and her friend Glenda stopped by during their roadtrip to Arkansas for a few nights and Lisa relieved us on Monday for a few hours so that was helpful too.
The only good thing about Natalie feeling bad is that she lets us cuddle her nonstop and we loved it!!! This was the first time she's ever just laid down in bed with us and hung out so we took advantage of the situation and relaxed with a good cartoon movie.

Storms

A couple of weeks ago there were some major storms rolling thru our part of the state. One night it got really dark and the alarms started going off so off Natalie and I went to the hall bathroom (this is our "safe room"). We had lots of pillows and blankets and a few of her toys, plus a flashlight. Matt was home that night (thankfully!) and he stayed out in the living room to monitor the news until it got really bad.
The electricity went on and off a couple of times during about 30 minutes so I made a game out of it with the flashlight. She loved it and once the weather got better and we could go back in the living room, she found the big blue mag light matt had been using. The maglight was one my dad had given us many moons ago. Like most of our flashlights, we inherited these throughout the years from my father who had an extreme love of light; flashlights, led anything, fluorescent, etc... We thought my dad must have had a good time watching his little granddaughter enjoy the big blue maglight for herself.

9 month checkup

Ok, I am way over due for this post (and many others) - we've just had a very stressful & busy month. Right now, Natalie has just turned 10 months and I should have posted her stats earlier but she's been sick (104 degree fevers), matt's had 2 back procedures, I went to NYC for work (first time away from Nats) and both Grandmas stopped by for visits. I'll be posting pics over the next couple of days to get up to speed again and will try and go in order.

Ok - so here were Natalie's 9 month stats:
date: 5-29-09
weight: 19lb 13oz (70%)
Length: 27-3/4" (55%)
Head: 17-7/8" (85%)

Things she could do: feed herself, drink out of a sippy cup, stand up with a prop, speed crawl, dance, crawl thru her tunnel, take the rings off the toy stack, say: mama, dada, hi,
