Snow!! Airplanes!! (cool February stuff)

Sorry we haven't posted sooner family, but February has been a very busy month for me at work and Erica is very busy growing a new little person in her belly (that's what she tells me and Nat).

Although February was short, there was A LOT going on. The Superbowl was phenomenal, easily the best I can remember. We had a great party with our friends and Nat got a chance to bond with her Mama's side of the family - she learned all about Saints football and Mardi Gras! (see the updated pictures on our Superbowl post).

Then, on the 12th, we broke the all time 24-hour snowfall record for the Dallas area with an accumulation of 12.5 inches. Not all that much to an Ohio boy, but it was crazy to the folks down here. Nat really enjoyed it.

Also this month, we got a chance to visit the Frontiers of Flight museum at Dallas Love Field (near Southwest Airlines headquarters). The museum itself is not overly impressive, but it has a GREAT children's play area. Natalie is always exclaiming "AIRPLANE! AIRPLANE!" every time one flies over our house, so we thought she'd enjoy them close-up. She had a great time, so did Mom and Dad!

Saturday House Cleaning Mayhem

On Saturday, Erica and I were cleaning house and our sweet daughter wanted to help! We cleaned out her closet and she helped by asking Mommy to wear her old Halloween dress. Then, she followed Mommy to the dryer for a quick (and cute) game of HI! vs. HELLO!

After the dryer game, she helped by wearing her old swimsuit as a hat which she promptly became entangled in. The only reasonable solution was to chase Mommy down and demand assistance (even though Daddy was two feet away the entire time :)

Finally, she helped by attacking the humble cameraman like she's Russell Crowe all of a sudden...

"Here's what happens to the paparazzi in Nat's house!!! Take this Dad!!!!"

I woke up 10 minutes later with no camera and a blue swimsuit on my head....

"SHE'S LEAVING THE BOW ALONE......

......quick, Matt, get the camera before it's too late!!!!" (some pre-church drama overheard last Sunday). Dad thinks she looked kinda like a pink elf...but the result was major cuteness nonetheless.

P.B. & J. !!

Another milestone in child development! Nat didn't just eat her first Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.....we think she inhaled it (but it was gone too fast to be 100% sure).

I believe the expression is........

Hi Gang!

Yep, Nat's hit the 17-month-old mark as of today and it's Dad's job to commemorate the occasion with some blog updates. She's managed to survive almost a year-and-a-half of our parenting, and somehow the dimples are still intact.

Natalie has been cracking us up lately with a variety of new silly faces and expressions. She is also finally sprouting wispy locks that stick out at right angles and make the overall effect even funnier. It's cool to see her unique personality develop and show through a little bit more each day (and Dad is secretly proud that she's a bit goofy at times). Here's a few examples:

She is also starting to repeat (or try as hard as she can to repeat) whatever words we say and even the noises we make. Here's a clip of my little mimic screaming along with Daddy in terror of the "Thrilling Office Chair Ride".
