Day 9 - ok, so we had a very relaxing day on Friday and this was our last FULL day (Saturday) in Hawaii so we wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. Lisa and I had rented snorkel gear and a water camera for 24 hours so we took to the ocean and pool most of the day. Matt and I went snorkeling around the condo while Lisa feed the girls breakfast and then she and Matt switched places so she could go snorkeling too. I got the best deal - snorkeling with two of my besties and being in the ocean twice the time. It was a good day.
During naps, Lisa and Matt returned the snorkel gear and did alittle more shopping. I stayed back to watch the girls and experimented with taking picture using my new polarized sunglasses. It would be cool to have a polarized lens for my camera but this is the down and dirty version.
To celebrate our last night, Matt and I went on a romantic dinner/sunset cruise leaving out of Kaanapali. It was similar to our 5 year sunset cruise but with the dinner portion it gave us more time on board and we sailed all the way up to the north coast (we even passed our condo and tried to find Lisa and the girls). I don't have any pictures from our cruise but needless to say it was very relaxing. It was the very end of the whale season and on the way back we got to see a mom and baby whale from afar.....very cool! I rarely buy souveneirs so at the end of the trip, Matt let me pick out some jewelry and I found a beautiful whale tale to remind me of this particular trip. (on our 5 year trip I picked out a beautiful, modern pearl necklace). I guess that might be my "thing".
Here's a picture from our trip 5 years ago
Back at the condo, Lisa had two cute little midgets that posed for pictures, colored, and watched lots of Elmo.
When Matt and I got back to the condo that night, the moon was in a rare phase called a "Super Moon" phase and it's suppose to be one of the brightest times ever. It was very beautiful and Lisa and I got some great night shots around the condo complex.
